I Like the portraits I think a few more of them would contribute to the body of work - I also like the "hole in the wall" its a quirky pice that adds to the architecture photos and stops a rush through the series.
ReplyDeletePersonally I would take a few out that don't really fit, but thats a personal thing.
Rob
Absolutely love your portraits!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that they are in black and white, really focuses on the people and the situation they are in.
Keep them coming :D
Not bad, i see where you coming from, but to make them "perfect" you need better camera.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great Andrew! Sadly being back in the states it makes me dearly miss Dun Laoghaire. . . Keep them coming! I'm no artist or photographer but I really enjoyed the way you looked at things and the perspectives you put them in.
ReplyDeleteThe ones I enjoyed the most were the more abstract ones like "Hole in the wall" and "Harbour Concourse". I also espicially enjoyed "Sitting. . . " I thought it was odd you found an old lady in the background with that odd shaped anchor in the foreground.
I'm not sure if you are completly into just black/white pictures but I think Dun Laoghaire in the daylight was gorgeous and very memorable for me.
Great pictures and tell everyone I said Hi and I miss the time we spent together in Dun Laoghaire and at Dunphys!
You've really started to build a good body of work I really like the street images but love your portraits, The use of the flash on one or two of them really makes the person 'pop' out of the image, keep them coming I say - I really like the one of the sax player and taxi man - brilliant so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun for eyes and brain to look through your photos.
ReplyDeleteBut do I have to go through all of them each time you post new ones?
Well done andy great work!!!! They really captured the real dunlaoghaire! Love them all! Laura and keith.
ReplyDeleteThere are some terrific photos there Andrew. From the poignant to the every day, all skillfully captured. You have a great eye. Keep them coming.
